Floating Lantern Purse

At the hellyeahtangled blog [link] , an anonymous person challenged readers to make a lantern-themed purse, and this idea popped into my head.

Materials used for the main "purse" part: the clear plastic zipper packaging from a set of curtains; a translucent, gradient fabric with a soft, fuzzy flower pattern; pink satin behind that; polyester fiberfill; peach felt; white felt for the backside of the purse container.

For the lanterns, I used: plastic material with a lace pattern; paper towels that I dyed with food colouring; and more fiberfill.

The lights are a battery-operated amber LED strand (water-submersible, except for the better pack -- and living in Florida, I waterproof the hell out of all the bags I make, LOL) -- I got the strand from here: [link] It's much better than xmas LEDs -- the lights are on the strand, rather than in holders that branch off of it, and the wires are really thin and moderately shape-able.

Oh, and I used a lot of hot-glue. One of these days I may reinforce it all it with plastic thread, but it seems pretty stable as-is ....

The handy thing about a purse like this? It's easier to find things inside it, thanks to the light! LOL
