The one handy thing about living in Florida? I was able to pick up some Spanish moss for Lya's hair on the side of the nature trail by my house. XD I trimmed her mane some, and hot-glued and tied the moss into it. Then I painted over some of it with purple and blue-green. I also found some frond-like things in my yard, which I painted and added to the moss. And I added some of the moss for her eyebrows, which she has in her first appearance. (Mostly I added them because she got some sort of mark above one brow, so the moss covered that nicely. XD) For her dress, I dyed some sturdy paper towels in egg-colouring dye, artfully ripped the paper, wrapped it around her, and mod-podged it a bit. (The parts that look white are actually light blue.) I had some hemp-string from a bracelet, and used that for the cord she has wrapped around her, and added a couple of blue beads where it's tied off. Lya has these weird tattoos on her arms -- I drew them in purple on her forelegs after scraping the cutie-heart off one leg. I also gave her some purple "eyeshadow" and made her eyes brown. Otherwise, I didn't paint her, preferring, like with Vala, to keep her original sparkly coat. I think "purple" when I see Lya, so it works for me.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
