After doing custom ponies of Stargate SG-1's Daniel and Vala [link] it was only a matter of time before I did my fave Stargate Atlantis characters -- especially since I helped host the Stargate "Small Toy Magic" customising panel at Dragon*Con this year! You can see McKay and Sheppard here: [link]

And you can see the reaction of several of the cast, including Jason Momoa and Paul McGillion, here: [link] (photos) and here: [link] (video by snarklover)

For Carson's coat colour, I went with something between the tan jacket he often wore (RIP, Carson!! ;_; ) and fleshtone (since he is a medical doctor); it's painted on with acrylic. His eyes I coloured a darker blue than they were, with a blue Sharpie; his main and tail were coloured with a black Sharpie. I gave him the yellow shirt that is a twin for Rodney's blue one, with the black panels down the sides. The white jacket is made of Kleenex, and taped on -- it took some tricky maneuvering on my part, so I have no intention of taking the thing off! LOL Using the medical symbol for one of his symbols was a no-brainer, of course.

Ronon was very difficult, but I'm pretty damn pleased with him! ^^ (Well, save for a bit of smudging here and there. *Sigh*) I actually re-haired him, which I have never attempted before. (OMG, what a pain!!!) I used this yarn that I felt resembled dreadlocks a bit. Thing is, the yarn was red-orange -- I had to colour it with a brown Sharpie. I used another piece of the yarn to tie the dreads up (the human Ronon uses a lock to tie the rest of his hair back). His coat was coloured with a gold-brown Sharpie (but alas became oranger as I worked, thanks to the ink used on the mane and tail). I used a green Sharpie on his eyes. I drew in Jason Momoa's "beauty marks" on the one side of his face, as well as the tattoo on his neck, his sideburns, and his goatee, and glued some of the yarn onto his chin. I'm rather happy with how it turned out! He's wearing one of the primitive-looking tunics he wears on the show. I didn't bother trying to add his necklaces -- too hard, and I didn't want to mess it up! XD On his left front leg is a simpler version of his forearm tattoo and an armguard, and his other foreleg sports another armguard. His symbol is his sword.

Like the previous Atlantis ponies, both sport the Pegasus Expedition logo on one side, and the Earth point-of-origin glyph as a cutie mark on their hooves.

You can see the others here, in this part of my gallery: [link]

Trust me, I read *plenty*. And I'm sure you have a hobby that I would find equally bizarre -- the difference being I would encourage you to pursue things that make *you* happy, not belittling you for it. Well, unless, of course, your hobby is trying to make others feel bad? In which case, I would say *you're* the one with too much time on her hands. When I made these, I was recovering from *surgery*. They proved popular enough that I was encouraged by fellow fans to make more, and, for the second year in a row, I'm hosting a panel at Dragon*Con on making them. So you might not like them, but others do -- and I wouldn't consider making others happy to be a waste of time.
