Another in an ever-growing line of Stargate-theme ponies: "Todd" the Wraith, who has been an unlikely ally to the Atlantis crew in this latest season of the series (4th).
I used Crayola Model Magic to make the ridges on his brow, the slits on his cheeks, and reshape his nose. I painted him in acrylic (not how his skin is speckled and veined), and drew his distinctive facial tattoo on with a thin-tipped marker (then touched it up with paint). I also painted a black "shirt" on him. Then I coated him with Modge Podge.
He doesn't have a cutie-mark or symbol, partially because I didn't want to put any old Wraith symbol on him without knowing what they mean (if they ever put out a font for it like they did with the Ancient symbols, I might give him a cutie mark after all) and partially because it's not like you can see his hindquarters! The costume's not really like his on the show -- too hard to work at that level of detail at that scale. I had to leave off the arm-guards -- not enough room after doing the shoulder/upper-arm-guards. And the things that should go over the tops of his shoulders ended up looking like a collar here. Such are the perils of working with different anatomy (his tattoo had to be altered a bit in relation to certain facial features as well). I made his coat out of material I had left over from the Todd Bag I made ( [link] ) , aluminum foil, and an old sparkly shirt. The hair is made of this wonderfully soft yarn. The way G3's necks are, I couldn't get a needle through to sew it in place, so instead I sewed the yarn to a piece of felt reinforced with Modge Podge, then hotglued the felt to the back of his neck and trimmed it. Then I hotglued his beard on.
*edited to add* Opps, forgot his feeding hoof. Thanks, das, for reminding me! And you're right, that hole that was already in his hoof, for a stand peg, was perfect for that!
You can see another pic of him here, at my main account: [link]
And the rest of the ponies here, in this portion of my gallery: [link]
Todd is now not only the best Wraith, but the best pony as well! Okay, I lied, it's still fluttershy.
