Description
Another rendition of Mars the Dog, from David Hewlett's film A Dog's Breakfast (© Kibble Productions, Inc). I saw both these fabrics in a remnants bin and immediately thought of Mars. Alas, despite popular perception (probably because of my Todd doll), my sewing skills aren't *really* that strong. And this is hand-sewn, too. XD I used a Vogue pattern, though I made some some alterations (like the snout). (Thanks, ~UrsulaPatch, for pointing me to those tutorials!) He's admittedly a little clumsy-looking, but I don't think he turned out *too* badly.
Like my Mars My Little Pony [link] , this went up for auction at the Dragon*Con Stargate Multiverse track, for the Georgia Chapter of the American Alzheimer's Association.
I originally intended for this to be signed by anyone ADB-related -- in particular, I know that Paul McGillion is supposed to be at the con this year -- but I've discovered that this material doesn't hold ink well. As it is, if he's washed, the ink on his face and chest will come off. *sigh* At any rate, I got a card with my Mars & Squirrel design on it [link] and had him and Rachel Luttrell sign that instead.
