Phoenix Needlework

Did this last year sometime -- Hern, my crafting muse, whispered it into my ear & wouldn't leave me be ... Materials: Cotton embroidery thread with gradation of colours (the feathers); metallic embroidery thread (the filaments and the beak); pipe cleaner (the legs); glass beads (the eyes and the filaments); ribbon with wire in it (the fire); acrylic paint (the sky); yellow sharpie (the aura); embroidery canvas (what everything's attached to ); and a wooden embroidery hoop.
