Me in my Kid Loki costume, which I plan on wearing to Dragon*Con next year (after loosing about 40 more pounds, hopefully XD).
The tunic is a cut-up and painted hoodie (the green leaf motif is not part of Loki's costume, but rather was my addition, just to dress it up and personalise it) with gold detailing sewn on. The gold bits were originally this yellow, textured fabric, which I then painted with gold paint. I used that fabric over a stretchy headband for the circlet. The black Kid Loki logo is glittery black felt; I used cashew cannister lids to stiffen it and to make the "wings" and "horns" of the circlet. I bought the base of the gloves, and sewed the black "sleeves", extending them, myself. The bright green sleeves are cut-up tights. I sewed the coif/skullcap -- thanks go to ~AloryShannon (who did an excellent Kid Loki cosplay [link] ) and `vaia for pointing me to a pattern! I covered my pair of Wellingtons with black fabric -- I'm hoping to redo it as actual black boots before dragon*Con 2012. I added the letters, which are iron-ons, to the black t-shirt. In case you can't read it, it says "God of Mischief".
Thanks! I actually ended up making a new one, from scratch -- sewed the tunic and hood and everything (I used a t-shirt pattern for the tunic, but left off the sleeves and made it longer). And I have plans to make another one once I lose some more weight. XD If you use the kid loki tag on tumbler, you'll find a *lot* of Kid Loki cosplay (among other things, so beware). Here's a pic of me in my new one, along with another Kid Loki cosplayer: [link]
I had no idea how to make the tunic, and I love your idea of using a hoodie!
Have you finished yours? I'd love to see it!
I'm glad the pattern worked!!
