Todd the Wraith Bag

Okay, so my crafting muse, Hern, is a little strange. He got this urge to make a doll of Todd the Wraith, one of my fave Stargate Atlantis characters. Then, practical guy that he is, he decided that Todd should be a backpack of sorts, if I'm going to be lugging him around conventions .... So yes, there's a zipper compartment in his backside. Waterproof, even. I tried having the straps be removable, but it was just to unsecure, alas. The backside of his costume is not accurate, but it's not like we see much of it on the show anyway.

His face is made of tie-dyed felt, hence the funky colours. I used beads under the felt to give his features some shape for the nose, brow, and slits on his cheeks. The costume is a mix of felt, pleather, and some fabrics I canibbalised from some old clothes of mine. The silver is aluminum foil on the shoulders and a seal from a baby food container on the belt. I'm not all that happy with his sleeves, despite having spent the longest on them and redoing them three times. I am not a seamstress -- Hern keeps forgetting that. I cheated with the hot glue gun wherever I could get away with it. XD My poor burned, needle-stuck fingers and ruined nails ...

Oh, and his hands have pipe cleaners in them, so his fingers are poseable. *evil grin* I had no clear shot of his feet, so I've no idea how to do the boots, and his feet are too small.

His hair is really, really soft yarn. He's soooo pettable. XD
